The JD/SW Media Event

On 29 February 2008 the lowering of the second JD/SW into the ATLAS cavern was made into a media event. The web site M & C news published some nice photos. The French TV company TF1 did a story (the first 24 min of the program is uninteresting). Three large news agencies published articles: Associated Press , Reuters and United Press International. While the Reuters article seems to have generated pieces in The Washington Post , AOL News , Pretoria News , Yahoo! News , The Scotsman , Soft-Go , ENN and Canada.com , the UPI article resulted in stories in The Money Times , Daily India , The Political Gateway and Individual while the AP story was picked up by a long list of newspapers such as International Herald Tribune , Newsweek , Miami Herald , MSNBC , The Independent , Yahoo! News , Taiwan News , Malaysia News , CNEWS , The Times Union , The Ledger Enquirer , Charter News , Care2 News Network , Inside Bay Area , Boston , Staten Island Live , Massachusetts Live , New Orleans Live , Oregon Live , Philly and Syracuse. An article by the Swiss news agency Schweizerische Depeschenagentur also produced several articles in the Swiss press: Tribune de Geneve , Swiss info , Le Temps , 24 Heures , Le Nouvelliste , La Liberte , Lactu and Romandie News . The CERN press release was published in Geneva Lunch News , Interactions News Wire , Malaysia Sun , Physorg , Bend Weekly News and The Science and Technology Facilities Council. Other press releases were made by Brandeis , Brookhaven , University of Pennsylvania and Argonne.
